Important update regarding Ascension network eligiblity, claim submissions and prior authorizations

In response to the current interruption in accessing Ascension network system information, we wanted to provide an update to all doctors and clinicians on eligibility, claim submissions and prior authorizations.

For eligibility verification:

For APC and SmartHealth eligibility inquiries:

  • Please refer to the Provider Portal. The Provider Portal is updated with claims that have been received through our clearinghouse, SDS, or paper claims received in the mail.

For Dell Children's Health Plan:

  • Please refer to the Provider Portal. The Provider Portal is updated with claims that have been received through our clearinghouse, SDS, or paper claims received in the mail.
  • For eligibility issues please call Member Services.

For claim submission, status or questions:

For claim questions please refer to the Provider Portal. You may continue to submit claims electronically; however, you may experience delays.

For new authorization requests:

This message applies to in-network inpatient, continued inpatient stay, outpatient services and medical specialty pharmacy on the medical benefit.

Due to the restoration of many of our systems after the recent ransomware attack, prior authorization requirements have been reinstated starting Monday, July 1, 2024. Clinicians can submit prior authorization requests via the provider portal, fax or email.

Please note that will be no exemptions for services requiring a prior authorization. If you have any questions, contact Ascension Care Management Insurance Holdings at 844-995-1145, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST.

 

Authorization is not a guarantee of payment. Services must meet all other plan requirements for coverage.
